Self-righteous and tired.

I appreciate free thinking and original political ideas and viewpoints. I did not find these with Dan Carlin.
I listened to two shows and was disappointed. The shows focused on Dan's concept of what he thinks the "Obama Docterine" should be with regard to the people of the Middle East, and the problem with "Neo-Conservatives". I would love to hear a thoughtful discussion of these topics, but Dan seemed so ignorant of basic facts, history and logic, that it was a chore to listen.
He apparently thinks all conservatives are "neo-cons", there not. 'Neo' refers to 'new', specifically those who converted to conservatism from liberalism in the late 70's.
After introducing the concept of the 'Obama Doctrine' he says it would endure because subsequent presidents continue the doctrines of their predecessors....obviously this is ignorant and nothing more than wishful thinking.
As far as the content of dans 'Obama Doctrine' it seems to boil down to the idea that if you always support the people of the Middle East over their (corrupt) governments. Eventually the governments will be overthrown and the people will love us. All we should do is support open elections. This idea has so many holes it's hard to know where to start, so let me just mention one fact: Regardless of how supportive we are, there will always be a sizable portion of the people in the Middle East who view us as morally corrupt, decadent, and evil infidels. For those people, the only way they would 'love' us is if we accepted sharia law and changed who we are.
If I wanted to listen to someone bloviate and perpetuate simplistic poorly constructed ideas I would listen to someone good at it, seriously! He use the phrase "quote, un-quote" over 20 times!!! Are your listeners too stupid to realize when you are reading a quote?????
Now I've wasted more time writing this review.
